How To Install sendpage-server on Ubuntu 18.04

What is sendpage-server
sendpage-server is:
To send alphanumeric pages to a pager, if an email gateway is unavailable or undesirable, software is needed to control a modem which will dial a Paging Central, and deliver the pages using an ASCII delivery system known as TAP. Sendpage implements all aspects of this type of software, including an SNPP client, an SNPP server, a queuing engine, a modem control engine, a TAP communication system, and an email notification system.
This package provides the sendpage SNPP server.
There are three methods to install sendpage-server on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sendpage-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sendpage-server using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sendpage-server
Install sendpage-server Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sendpage-server using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sendpage-server
Install sendpage-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sendpage-server using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sendpage-server
How To Uninstall sendpage-server on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the sendpage-server package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sendpage-server
Uninstall sendpage-server And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sendpage-server and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sendpage-server
Remove sendpage-server Configurations and Data
To remove sendpage-server configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sendpage-server
Remove sendpage-server configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sendpage-server configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sendpage-server
