How To Install sendpage-client on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install sendpage-client on Kali Linux.

What is sendpage-client

sendpage-client is:

To send alphanumeric pages to a pager, if an email gateway is unavailable or undesirable, software is needed to control a modem which will dial a Paging Central, and deliver the pages using an ASCII delivery system known as TAP. Sendpage implements all aspects of this type of software, including an SNPP client, an SNPP server, a queuing engine, a modem control engine, a TAP communication system, and an email notification system.

This package provides the sendpage SNPP client.

There are three methods to install sendpage-client on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install sendpage-client Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install sendpage-client using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install sendpage-client

Install sendpage-client Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install sendpage-client using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install sendpage-client

Install sendpage-client Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install sendpage-client using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install sendpage-client

How To Uninstall sendpage-client on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the sendpage-client package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove sendpage-client

Uninstall sendpage-client And Its Dependencies

To uninstall sendpage-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove sendpage-client

Remove sendpage-client Configurations and Data

To remove sendpage-client configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge sendpage-client
