What is sendemail
SendEmail is a lightweight, completely command line based, SMTP e-mail client. It was designed to be used in bash scripts, batch files, Perl programs and web sites, but is also quite useful in many other contexts. SendEmail is written in Perl and is unique in that it requires no special modules. It has a straight forward interface, making it very easy to use.
We can use yum or dnf to install sendemail on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install sendemail.
Install sendemail on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install sendemail using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install sendemail
Install sendemail on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install sendemail using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install sendemail
How To Uninstall sendemail on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the sendemail package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove sendemail
