In this tutorial we learn how to install sems on CentOS 7.

What is sems

SEMS (SIP Express Media Server) is very extensible and programmable SIP media server for SER or OpenSER. The plug-in based SDK enables you to extend SEMS and write your own applications and integrate new codec. Voice-mail, announcement and echo plug-ins are already included. SEMS supports g711u, g711a, GSM06.10 and wav file.

We can use yum or dnf to install sems on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install sems.

Install sems on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install sems using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install sems

Install sems on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install sems using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install sems

How To Uninstall sems on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the sems package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove sems
