How To Install scrypt on Kali Linux

On modern hardware and with default parameters, the cost of cracking the password on a file encrypted by scrypt enc is approximately 100 billion times more than the cost of cracking the same password on a file encrypted by openssl enc; this means that a five-character password using scrypt is stronger than a ten-character password using openssl.
There are three methods to install scrypt
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install scrypt Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install scrypt
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install scrypt

After updating apt database, We can install scrypt

by running the following command:

Install scrypt Using aptitude

How To Uninstall scrypt on Kali Linux

sudo apt-get -y autoremove scrypt
