How To Install scowl on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install scowl on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is scowl
scowl is:
The SCOWL is a collection of word lists organized by word popularity, language, word class, and other factors. These lists can be combined in various ways (or used individually) for spell checking and similar purposes.
The Debian wamerican*, wbritish*, and wcanadian* wordlist packages are built from (appropriate collections of) these same lists. Install one (or more) of those packages if you want a comprehensive word list; install scowl if you (also) want to pick and choose the pieces that comprise those lists.

There are three methods to install scowl on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install scowl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install scowl using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install scowl
Install scowl Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install scowl using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install scowl
Install scowl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install scowl using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install scowl
How To Uninstall scowl on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the scowl package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove scowl
Uninstall scowl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall scowl and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove scowl
Remove scowl Configurations and Data
To remove scowl configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge scowl
Remove scowl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove scowl configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge scowl
