How To Install scim-clutter-immodule on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install scim-clutter-immodule on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is scim-clutter-immodule
scim-clutter-immodule is:
SCIM (Smart Common Input Method) is an input method (IM) platform.
This package is the clutter native input method module for SCIM. It provides a clutter IM module for clutter-1.0 with SCIM as the input backend. This input method module should work within all clutter platforms.
The clutter IM module communicates with SCIM backend through the IM agent provided by scim-im-agent package.

There are three methods to install scim-clutter-immodule on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install scim-clutter-immodule Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install scim-clutter-immodule using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install scim-clutter-immodule
Install scim-clutter-immodule Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install scim-clutter-immodule using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install scim-clutter-immodule
Install scim-clutter-immodule Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install scim-clutter-immodule using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install scim-clutter-immodule
How To Uninstall scim-clutter-immodule on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the scim-clutter-immodule package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove scim-clutter-immodule

To uninstall scim-clutter-immodule and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

To remove scim-clutter-immodule configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge scim-clutter-immodule

We can use the following command to remove scim-clutter-immodule configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge scim-clutter-immodule
