In this tutorial we learn how to install schroedinger on CentOS 7.
What is schroedinger
The Schrödinger project will implement portable libraries for the high quality Dirac video codec created by BBC Research and Development. Dirac is a free and open source codec producing very high image quality video. The Schrödinger project is a project done by BBC R&D and Fluendo in order to create a set of high quality decoder and encoder libraries for the Dirac video codec.
We can use yum or dnf to install schroedinger on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install schroedinger.
Install schroedinger on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install schroedinger using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install schroedinger
Install schroedinger on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install schroedinger using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install schroedinger
How To Uninstall schroedinger on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the schroedinger package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove schroedinger
