How To Install schleuder-cli on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install schleuder-cli on Kali Linux.

What is schleuder-cli

schleuder-cli is:

Schleuder-cli enables creating, configuring, and deleting schleuder mailing lists, subscriptions, keys, etc.

It uses the Schleuder API, provided by schleuder-api-daemon (part of Schleuder).

Authentication and TLS-verification are mandatory. You need an API-key and the fingerprint of the TLS-certificate of the Schleuder API, respectively. Both should be provided by the API operators.

schleuder-cli does not authorize access. Only people who are supposed to have full access to all lists should be allowed to use it on/with your server.

There are three methods to install schleuder-cli on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install schleuder-cli Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install schleuder-cli using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install schleuder-cli

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install schleuder-cli using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install schleuder-cli

Install schleuder-cli Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install schleuder-cli using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install schleuder-cli

How To Uninstall schleuder-cli on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the schleuder-cli package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove schleuder-cli

Uninstall schleuder-cli And Its Dependencies

To uninstall schleuder-cli and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove schleuder-cli

Remove schleuder-cli Configurations and Data

To remove schleuder-cli configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge schleuder-cli
