How To Install scdaemon on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install scdaemon on Kali Linux.
What is scdaemon
scdaemon is:
GnuPG is GNU’s tool for secure communication and data storage. It can be used to encrypt data and to create digital signatures. It includes an advanced key management facility and is compliant with the proposed OpenPGP Internet standard as described in RFC4880.
This package contains the smart card program scdaemon, which is used by gpg-agent to access OpenPGP smart cards.
There are three methods to install scdaemon on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install scdaemon Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install scdaemon using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install scdaemonInstall scdaemon Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install scdaemon using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install scdaemon using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the scdaemon package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove scdaemonUninstall scdaemon And Its Dependencies
To uninstall scdaemon and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove scdaemonRemove scdaemon Configurations and Data
To remove scdaemon configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge scdaemonRemove scdaemon configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove scdaemon configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
