How To Install scanssh on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install scanssh on Kali Linux.
What is scanssh
scanssh is:
The ScanSSH protocol scanner scans a list of addresses and networks for running SSH protocol servers and their version numbers. Version 2.0 adds support for scanning arbitrary ports and specifically open proxies. The ScanSSH protocol scanner supports random selection of IP addresses from large network ranges and is useful for gathering statistics on the deployment of SSH protocol servers in a company or the Internet as whole.
There are three methods to install scanssh on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install scanssh Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install scanssh using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install scansshInstall scanssh Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install scanssh using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install scansshInstall scanssh Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install scanssh using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install scansshHow To Uninstall scanssh on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the scanssh package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove scansshUninstall scanssh And Its Dependencies
To uninstall scanssh and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove scansshRemove scanssh Configurations and Data
To remove scanssh configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge scansshRemove scanssh configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove scanssh configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge scansshDependencies
