scala-library is:

Scala is a Java-compatible programming language with many modern language features. It is Java-compatible in that Scala and Java classes can directly reference each other and subclass each other with no glue code needed. It includes modern language features such as closures, pattern-matching, parametric types, and virtual type members.

This package contains the run-time library needed to run Scala programs. It also provides scalacheck and scala-partest.

There are three methods to install scala-library on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install scala-library Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install scala-library using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install scala-library

Install scala-library Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install scala-library using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install scala-library

Install scala-library Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install scala-library using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install scala-library

How To Uninstall scala-library on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the scala-library package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove scala-library

Uninstall scala-library And Its Dependencies

To uninstall scala-library and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove scala-library

Remove scala-library Configurations and Data

To remove scala-library configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge scala-library

Remove scala-library configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove scala-library configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge scala-library
