How To Install sasview on Debian 11

on Debian 11.
What is sasview
sasview is:
SasView is a Small Angle Scattering Analysis Software Package, originally developed as part of the NSF DANSE project under the name SansView, now managed by an international collaboration of facilities.
SasView is software for the analysis of Small-Angle Scattering (SAS) data.
It fits analytic functions describing different types of material microstructure to experimental data in order to determine the shape, size and degree of ordering.
SasView also includes tools for calculating scattering length densities, slit sizes, resolution, fringe thicknesses/d-spacings, the (Porod) invariant (’total scattering’), and distance distribution functions.
This package installs the sasview executable script.
There are three methods to install sasview
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sasview Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sasview
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sasview

After updating apt database, We can install sasview

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install sasview
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sasview
How To Uninstall sasview on Debian 11
To uninstall only the sasview
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sasview
Uninstall sasview And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sasview
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sasview
Remove sasview Configurations and Data
To remove sasview
configuration and data from Debian 11 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sasview
