How To Install rwho on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install rwho on Kali Linux.
What is rwho
rwho is:
The rwho command produces output similar to who, but for all machines on the local network. If no report has been received from a machine for 11 minutes then rwho assumes the machine is down, and does not report users last known to be logged into that machine.
The ruptime command gives a status line like uptime for each machine on the local network; these are formed from packets broadcast by each host on the network once a minute.
There are three methods to install rwho on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rwho Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rwho using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rwhoInstall rwho Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rwho using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rwhoInstall rwho Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rwho using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rwhoHow To Uninstall rwho on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the rwho package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rwhoUninstall rwho And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rwho and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rwhoRemove rwho Configurations and Data
To remove rwho configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rwhoRemove rwho configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rwho configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
