How To Install rubygem-ox on CentOS 7

What is rubygem-ox
A fast XML parser and object serializer that uses only standard C lib. Optimized XML (Ox), as the name implies was written to provide speed optimized XML handling. It was designed to be an alternative to Nokogiri and other Ruby XML parsers for generic XML parsing and as an alternative to Marshal for Object serialization.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install rubygem-ox
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rubygem-ox.
Install rubygem-ox on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rubygem-ox
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install rubygem-ox
Install rubygem-ox on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rubygem-ox
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rubygem-ox
How To Uninstall rubygem-ox on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the rubygem-ox
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rubygem-ox
