What is rubygem-locale
Ruby-Locale is the pure ruby library which provides basic and general purpose APIs for localization. It aims to support all environments which ruby works and all kind of programs (GUI, WWW, library, etc), and becomes the hub of other i18n/l10n libs/apps to handle major locale ID standards.
We can use yum or dnf to install rubygem-locale on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rubygem-locale.
Install rubygem-locale on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rubygem-locale using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install rubygem-locale
Install rubygem-locale on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rubygem-locale using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rubygem-locale
How To Uninstall rubygem-locale on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the rubygem-locale package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rubygem-locale
