What is rubygem-eventmachine
EventMachine implements a fast, single-threaded engine for arbitrary network communications. It’s extremely easy to use in Ruby. EventMachine wraps all interactions with IP sockets, allowing programs to concentrate on the implementation of network protocols. It can be used to create both network servers and clients. To create a server or client, a Ruby program only needs to specify the IP address and port, and provide a Module that implements the communications protocol. Implementations of several standard network protocols are provided with the package, primarily to serve as examples. The real goal of EventMachine is to enable programs to easily interface with other programs using TCP/IP, especially if custom protocols are required.
We can use yum or dnf to install rubygem-eventmachine on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rubygem-eventmachine.
Install rubygem-eventmachine on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rubygem-eventmachine using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install rubygem-eventmachine
Install rubygem-eventmachine on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rubygem-eventmachine using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rubygem-eventmachine
How To Uninstall rubygem-eventmachine on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the rubygem-eventmachine package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rubygem-eventmachine
