How To Install ruby-zip on Debian 10

What is ruby-zip
ruby-zip is:
rubyzip is a ruby library for reading and writing zip (pkzip format) files, with the restriction that only uncompressed and deflated zip entries are supported. All this library does is handling of the zip file format. the actual compression/decompression is handled by zlib. zlib is accessible from ruby thanks to ruby/zlib
There are three methods to install ruby-zip on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-zip Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-zip using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-zip

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-zip using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-zip
Install ruby-zip Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-zip using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-zip
How To Uninstall ruby-zip on Debian 10
To uninstall only the ruby-zip package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-zip
Uninstall ruby-zip And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-zip and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-zip
Remove ruby-zip Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-zip configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-zip
