How To Install ruby-uri-template on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-uri-template on Kali Linux.

What is ruby-uri-template

ruby-uri-template is:

A templating system for URIs, which implements RFC6570 and Colon based URITemplates in a clean and straight forward way.

With URITemplate you can generate URIs based on simple templates and extract variables from URIs using the same templates. There are currently two syntaxes defined. Namely the one defined in RFC 6570 and a colon based syntax, similar to the one used by sinatra.

There are three methods to install ruby-uri-template on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-uri-template Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-uri-template using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ruby-uri-template

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-uri-template using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ruby-uri-template

Install ruby-uri-template Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-uri-template using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-uri-template

How To Uninstall ruby-uri-template on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the ruby-uri-template package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-uri-template

Uninstall ruby-uri-template And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ruby-uri-template and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-uri-template

Remove ruby-uri-template Configurations and Data

To remove ruby-uri-template configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
