How To Install ruby-terrapin on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-terrapin on Kali Linux.

What is ruby-terrapin

ruby-terrapin is:

Apart from the basic, normal stuff, you can use nterpolated arguments. It also prevents attempts at being bad.

You can also see what’s getting run. The ‘Command’ part it logs is in green for visibility!

Terrapin will only shell-escape what is passed in as interpolations to the run method. It WILL NOT escape what is passed in to the second argument of new. Terrapin assumes that you will not be manually passing user-generated data to that argument and will be using it as a template for your command line’s structure.

There are three methods to install ruby-terrapin on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-terrapin using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-terrapin using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install ruby-terrapin

Install ruby-terrapin Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-terrapin using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-terrapin

How To Uninstall ruby-terrapin on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the ruby-terrapin package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-terrapin

Uninstall ruby-terrapin And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ruby-terrapin and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-terrapin

Remove ruby-terrapin Configurations and Data

To remove ruby-terrapin configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-terrapin

Remove ruby-terrapin configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ruby-terrapin configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ruby-terrapin
