What is ruby-securecompare

ruby-securecompare is:

securecompare borrows the secure_compare private method from ActiveSupport::MessageVerifier which lets you do safely compare strings without being vulnerable to timing attacks. Useful for Basic HTTP Authentication in your rack/rails application.

There are three methods to install ruby-securecompare on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-securecompare Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-securecompare using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
