How To Install ruby-retryable on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-retryable on Kali Linux.
What is ruby-retryable
ruby-retryable is:
Runs a code block, and retries it when an exception occurs. It’s great when working with flakey webservices (for example).
It’s configured using four optional parameters :tries, :on, :sleep, :matching, :ensure, :exception_cb and runs the passed block. Should an exception occur, it’ll retry for (n-1) times.
Should the number of retries be reached without success, the last exception will be raised.
There are three methods to install ruby-retryable on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-retryable Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-retryable using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-retryableInstall ruby-retryable Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-retryable using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-retryableInstall ruby-retryable Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-retryable using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-retryableHow To Uninstall ruby-retryable on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ruby-retryable package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-retryableUninstall ruby-retryable And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-retryable and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-retryableRemove ruby-retryable Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-retryable configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-retryableRemove ruby-retryable configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ruby-retryable configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ruby-retryableDependencies
