What is ruby-rainbow
ruby-rainbow is:
Rainbow extends the ruby string class to enable coloring text on ANSI terminals. It adds methods to the String class and allowing the use offoreground and background color, bright, italic, underline, blink, reverse, hide and reset on text for ANSI terminals.
There are three methods to install ruby-rainbow
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-rainbow Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-rainbow
using apt-get

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-rainbow
