What is ruby-path-expander

ruby-path-expander is:

PathExpander helps pre-process command-line arguments expanding directories into their constituent files. It further helps by providing additional mechanisms to make specifying subsets easier with path subtraction and allowing for command-line arguments to be saved in a file.

NOTE: this is NOT an options processor. It is a path processor (basically everything else besides options). It does provide a mechanism for pre-filtering cmdline options, but not with the intent of actually processing them in PathExpander. Use OptionParser to deal with options either before or after passing ARGV through PathExpander.

There are three methods to install ruby-path-expander on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-path-expander Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-path-expander using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-path-expander

How To Uninstall ruby-path-expander on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the ruby-path-expander package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-path-expander

Uninstall ruby-path-expander And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ruby-path-expander and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-path-expander
