How To Install ruby-paranoia on Debian 11

on Debian 11.
What is ruby-paranoia
ruby-paranoia is:
Paranoia is a re-implementation of acts_as_paranoid for Rails 3, using much, much, much less code. You would use either plugin / gem if you wished that when you called destroy on an Active Record object that it didn’t actually destroy it, but just “hid” the record. Paranoia does this by setting a deleted_at field to the current time when you destroy a record, and hides it by scoping all queries on your model to only include records which do not have a deleted_at field.
There are three methods to install ruby-paranoia
on Debian 11. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-paranoia Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-paranoia
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-paranoia
Install ruby-paranoia Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-paranoia
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-paranoia
Install ruby-paranoia Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-paranoia
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-paranoia
How To Uninstall ruby-paranoia on Debian 11
To uninstall only the ruby-paranoia
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-paranoia
Uninstall ruby-paranoia And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-paranoia
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 11, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-paranoia
