How To Install ruby-openid-connect on Debian 12

What is ruby-openid-connect

OpenID Connect 1.0 is a simple identity layer on top of the OAuth 2.0 protocol. It allows Clients to verify the identity of the End-User based on the authentication performed by an Authorization Server, as well as to obtain basic profile information about the End-User in an interoperable and REST-like manner.
OpenID Connect allows clients of all types, including Web-based, mobile, and JavaScript clients, to request and receive information about authenticated sessions and end-users. The specification suite is extensible, allowing participants to use optional features such as encryption of identity data, discovery of OpenID Providers, and session management, when it makes sense for them.
There are three methods to install ruby-openid-connect on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-openid-connect Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-openid-connect using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-openid-connect
Install ruby-openid-connect Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-openid-connect using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-openid-connect
Install ruby-openid-connect Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-openid-connect using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-openid-connect
How To Uninstall ruby-openid-connect on Debian 12
To uninstall only the ruby-openid-connect package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-openid-connect
Uninstall ruby-openid-connect And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-openid-connect and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-openid-connect
Remove ruby-openid-connect Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-openid-connect configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-openid-connect
Remove ruby-openid-connect configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
