How To Install ruby-odbc on Ubuntu 18.04

What is ruby-odbc
ruby-odbc is:
ODBC is a standard API for connecting to ODBC data sources such as Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMSs). For accessing ODBC data sources from the Ruby language, an ODBC binding library and Ruby interface are required.
This package includes both UTF-8 and non-UTF-8 versions.
There are three methods to install ruby-odbc
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-odbc

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-odbc

sudo apt -y install ruby-odbc
Install ruby-odbc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-odbc
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-odbc
How To Uninstall ruby-odbc on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the ruby-odbc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-odbc
Uninstall ruby-odbc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-odbc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-odbc
Remove ruby-odbc Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-odbc
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-odbc
Remove ruby-odbc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ruby-odbc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ruby-odbc
