What is ruby-odbc

ruby-odbc is:

ODBC is a standard API for connecting to ODBC data sources such as Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMSs). For accessing ODBC data sources from the Ruby language, an ODBC binding library and Ruby interface are required.

This package includes both UTF-8 and non-UTF-8 versions.

There are three methods to install ruby-odbc on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-odbc Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

How To Uninstall ruby-odbc on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the ruby-odbc package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-odbc

Uninstall ruby-odbc And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ruby-odbc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-odbc

Remove ruby-odbc Configurations and Data

To remove ruby-odbc configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-odbc

Remove ruby-odbc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove ruby-odbc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
