ruby-minitar is:

Archive::Tar::Minitar is a pure-Ruby library and command-line utility that provides the ability to deal with POSIX tar(1) archive files.

The implementation is based heavily on Mauricio Ferna’ndez’s implementation in rpa-base, but has been reorganised to promote reuse in other projects.

There are three methods to install ruby-minitar on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-minitar Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
