How To Install ruby-listen on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-listen on Kali Linux.

What is ruby-listen

ruby-listen is:

This Ruby library listens to file modifications and notifies you about the changes.

It detects file modification, addition and removal, and supports multiple directories from a single listener. It uses checksum comparison for modifications made under the same second, and allows supplying regexp-patterns to ignore and filter paths for better results.

There are three methods to install ruby-listen on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-listen Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-listen using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ruby-listen

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update
