What is ruby-librarian

ruby-librarian is:

Librarian is a framework for writing bundlers, which are tools that resolve, fetch, install, and isolate a project’s dependencies, in Ruby.

A bundler written with Librarian will expect you to provide a specfile listing your project’s declared dependencies, including any version constraints and including the upstream sources for finding them. Librarian can resolve the spec, write a lockfile listing the full resolution, fetch the resolved dependencies, install them, and isolate them in your project.

A bundler written with Librarian will be similar in kind to Bundler, the bundler for Ruby gems that many modern Rails applications use.

There are three methods to install ruby-librarian on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-librarian Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-librarian using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ruby-librarian

Install ruby-librarian Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-librarian using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-librarian using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-librarian

How To Uninstall ruby-librarian on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the ruby-librarian package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-librarian

Uninstall ruby-librarian And Its Dependencies

To uninstall ruby-librarian and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-librarian

Remove ruby-librarian Configurations and Data

To remove ruby-librarian configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
