How To Install ruby-fast-stemmer on Kali Linux

What is ruby-fast-stemmer

ruby-fast-stemmer is:

Fast-stemmer is simply a wrapping around multithreaded Porter stemming algorithm.

This gem adds a String::stem method, and it’s in order of magnitude faster (and uses much less memory) than the pure Ruby implementation of stemmer.

There are three methods to install ruby-fast-stemmer on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-fast-stemmer Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-fast-stemmer using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install ruby-fast-stemmer

To uninstall only the ruby-fast-stemmer package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove ruby-fast-stemmer
