How To Install ruby-facets on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-facets
on Debian 9.
What is ruby-facets
ruby-facets is:
Ruby Facets is the single largest collection of core extension methods and standard library additions available for the Ruby programming language.
The core library extend existing base classes with lot’s of convenient methods and new base objects (Binding, Functor, Stackable, …).
In addition to the core libraries, Facets provides dozens of additional classes, modules, mixins and light-weight frameworks. These solid libraries provide a general-purpose set of components commonly useful across a variety of applications (Dictionary, LinkedList, PQueue, Random, …).
There are three methods to install ruby-facets
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-facets Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-facets
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-facets

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-facets
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-facets
Install ruby-facets Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-facets
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-facets
How To Uninstall ruby-facets on Debian 9
To uninstall only the ruby-facets
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-facets
Uninstall ruby-facets And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-facets
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-facets
Remove ruby-facets Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-facets
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-facets
Remove ruby-facets configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ruby-facets
