How To Install ruby-dotenv on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-dotenv on Kali Linux.
What is ruby-dotenv
ruby-dotenv is:
Like the gem “foreman”, dotenv will automagically load variables from .env, but doesn’t put them in the Procfile. Instead they are accessible via ENV. Thus it can also be used when running an application manually, using the interactive console, or running a Rake task.
There are three methods to install ruby-dotenv on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-dotenv Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-dotenv using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-dotenvInstall ruby-dotenv Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-dotenv using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-dotenvInstall ruby-dotenv Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-dotenv using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-dotenvHow To Uninstall ruby-dotenv on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ruby-dotenv package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-dotenvUninstall ruby-dotenv And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-dotenv and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-dotenvRemove ruby-dotenv Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-dotenv configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-dotenvRemove ruby-dotenv configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ruby-dotenv configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
