How To Install ruby-chronic on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-chronic on Kali Linux.
What is ruby-chronic
ruby-chronic is:
Chronic is a natural language date/time parser written in pure Ruby.
Chronic can parse a huge variety of date and time formats. Parsing is case insensitive and will handle common abbreviations and misspellings.
This package provides gitlab’s fork of chronic (original project is unmaintained).
There are three methods to install ruby-chronic on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-chronic Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-chronic using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-chronicInstall ruby-chronic Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-chronic using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-chronicInstall ruby-chronic Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-chronic using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-chronicHow To Uninstall ruby-chronic on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ruby-chronic package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-chronicUninstall ruby-chronic And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-chronic and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-chronicRemove ruby-chronic Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-chronic configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-chronicRemove ruby-chronic configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ruby-chronic configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
