How To Install ruby-azure-sdk on Debian 9

The Azure SDK for Ruby provides a Ruby interface to Azure Resource Management (ARM). This package is a metapackage that depends on components for: Authorization, Batch, CDN, Cognitive Services, Commerce, Compute, Datalake Analytics, Datalake Store, DevTest Labs, DNS, Features, Graph, IoTHub, Key Vault, Locks Management, Logic Integration, Machine Learning, Media Services, Mobile Engagement, Network, Notification Hubs, Policy, Powerbi Embedded, Redis, Resources, Scheduler, Search, Server Management, SQL, Storage, Subscriptions, Traffic Manager and WebApps.
There are three methods to install ruby-azure-sdk on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-azure-sdk Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-azure-sdk using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-azure-sdk
Install ruby-azure-sdk Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-azure-sdk using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-azure-sdk
Install ruby-azure-sdk Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-azure-sdk using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-azure-sdk
How To Uninstall ruby-azure-sdk on Debian 9
To uninstall only the ruby-azure-sdk package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-azure-sdk
Uninstall ruby-azure-sdk And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-azure-sdk and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-azure-sdk
Remove ruby-azure-sdk Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-azure-sdk configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-azure-sdk
Remove ruby-azure-sdk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ruby-azure-sdk configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ruby-azure-sdk
