How To Install ruby-amazon-ec2 on Kali Linux

What is ruby-amazon-ec2
ruby-amazon-ec2 is:
A Ruby library for accessing the Amazon Web Services (AWS) APIs like:
- Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2): provides resizable compute capacity via virtual machine set up and allocation.
- Autoscaling: automatically scale your Amazon EC2 capacity up or down
- Elastic Load Balancing (ELB): distributes application traffic across multiple Amazon EC2 instances
- Relational Database Service (RDS): set up, operate, and scale MySQL instance
- CloudWatch: provides monitoring for AWS like Amazon EC2.
There are three methods to install ruby-amazon-ec2 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-amazon-ec2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-amazon-ec2 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-amazon-ec2Install ruby-amazon-ec2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-amazon-ec2 using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ruby-amazon-ec2 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-amazon-ec2How To Uninstall ruby-amazon-ec2 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ruby-amazon-ec2 package we can use the following command:
