How To Install ruby-aggregate on Ubuntu 22.04

What is ruby-aggregate
ruby-aggregate is:
Aggregate is an intuitive ruby implementation of a statistics aggregator including both default and configurable histogram support. It does this without recording/storing any of the actual sample values, making it suitable for tracking statistics across millions/billions of samples without any impact on performance or memory footprint. Originally inspired by the Aggregate support in SystemTap.
There are three methods to install ruby-aggregate
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ruby-aggregate Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-aggregate
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ruby-aggregate
Install ruby-aggregate Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-aggregate
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ruby-aggregate
Install ruby-aggregate Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ruby-aggregate
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ruby-aggregate
How To Uninstall ruby-aggregate on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the ruby-aggregate
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ruby-aggregate
Uninstall ruby-aggregate And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ruby-aggregate
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ruby-aggregate
Remove ruby-aggregate Configurations and Data
To remove ruby-aggregate
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ruby-aggregate
Remove ruby-aggregate configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ruby-aggregate
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ruby-aggregate
