adsf (A Dead Simple Fileserver) is a tiny web server that can be spawned in any directory to serve static files. It can be used programmatically in Rack and other Ruby applications.

For example, the nanoc static website generator uses it its “view” command.

There are three methods to install ruby-adsf on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ruby-adsf Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-adsf using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install ruby-adsf

Install ruby-adsf Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install ruby-adsf using apt by running the following command:
