What is rst2txt
reStructuredText is pretty-damn consumable in its raw form, but extensive use of directives and roles can hamper things or leave the document incomplete in its raw form. rst2txt allows you to work around this by evaluating the reStructuredText source and stripping it of most of its formatting. The end result is a document that’s more readable and has elements that don’t make sense in a plain text document, such as images, stripped.
We can use yum or dnf to install rst2txt on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rst2txt.
Install rst2txt on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install rst2txt using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rst2txt
Install rst2txt on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install rst2txt using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install rst2txt
How To Uninstall rst2txt on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the rst2txt package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rst2txt
