How To Install rr on Ubuntu 18.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install rr
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is rr
rr is:
rr allows application executions to be recorded and then replayed with gdb as many times as desired.
This allows intermittent, or complex to reproduce, bugs to be captured and then debugged at leisure. Replays are deterministic, always identical from one run to another.
rr is incompatible with ptrace hardening, and currently only supports Intel CPUs with Nehalem or later microarchitectures.
There are three methods to install rr
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rr Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install rr
using apt-get

Remove rr Configurations and Data

configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
