How To Install rplay-client on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install rplay-client on Kali Linux.
What is rplay-client
rplay-client is:
This package contains the basic rplay clients (rplay, rptp). The clients are used to play sounds on the local host or remote systems.
RPlay allows sounds to be played to and from local and remote Unix systems. Sounds can be played with or without sending audio data over the network using either UDP or TCP/IP. RPlay audio servers can be configured to share sound files with each other.
Support for RPlay is included in several applications. These include xpilot, xlockmore, xboing, fvwm, and ctwm.
There are three methods to install rplay-client on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rplay-client Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rplay-client using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rplay-clientInstall rplay-client Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rplay-client using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rplay-clientInstall rplay-client Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rplay-client using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the rplay-client package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rplay-clientUninstall rplay-client And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rplay-client and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rplay-clientRemove rplay-client Configurations and Data
To remove rplay-client configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rplay-clientRemove rplay-client configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rplay-client configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge rplay-clientDependencies
