How To Install rospack-tools on Ubuntu 18.04

What is rospack-tools
rospack-tools is:
This package is part of Robot OS (ROS). rospack is a command-line tool for retrieving information about ROS packages available on the filesystem. It implements a wide variety of commands ranging from locating ROS packages in the filesystem, to listing available stacks, to calculating the dependency tree of stacks. It is also used in the ROS build system for calculating build information for packages.
There are three methods to install rospack-tools
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install rospack-tools
using apt-get

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install rospack-tools
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rospack-tools
Install rospack-tools Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install rospack-tools
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rospack-tools
How To Uninstall rospack-tools on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the rospack-tools
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rospack-tools
Uninstall rospack-tools And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rospack-tools
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rospack-tools
Remove rospack-tools Configurations and Data
To remove rospack-tools
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rospack-tools
Remove rospack-tools configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rospack-tools
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge rospack-tools
