What is root-gui-recorder

This library provides interface for recording and replaying events in ROOT. Recorded events are - Commands typed by user in command line (’new TCanvas’) - GUI events (mouse movement, button clicks, …) All the recorded events from one session are stored in one TFile and can be replayed again anytime.

We can use yum or dnf to install root-gui-recorder on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install root-gui-recorder.

Install root-gui-recorder on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install root-gui-recorder using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install root-gui-recorder

Install root-gui-recorder on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install root-gui-recorder using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install root-gui-recorder

How To Uninstall root-gui-recorder on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the root-gui-recorder package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove root-gui-recorder
