How To Install roaraudio on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install roaraudio
on Kali Linux.
What is roaraudio
roaraudio is:
RoarAudio is a system for audio mixing. Its main purpose is to mix audio from different clients before sending it to its outputs (for example a soundcard). It is completely network transparent (UNIX sockets, TCP/IP, DECnet) and supports many common codecs like Ogg Vorbis, Speex or FLAC.
This package contains the RoarAudio sound server “roard” implementing the RoarAudio protocol.
There are three methods to install roaraudio
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install roaraudio Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install roaraudio
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install roaraudio
Install roaraudio Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install roaraudio
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install roaraudio
Install roaraudio Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install roaraudio
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install roaraudio
How To Uninstall roaraudio on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the roaraudio
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove roaraudio
Uninstall roaraudio And Its Dependencies
To uninstall roaraudio
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove roaraudio
Remove roaraudio Configurations and Data
To remove roaraudio
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge roaraudio
Remove roaraudio configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove roaraudio
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge roaraudio
