What is rhash
RHash is a console utility for calculation and verification of magnet links and a wide range of hash sums like CRC32, MD4, MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA512, SHA3, AICH, ED2K, Tiger, DC++ TTH, BitTorrent BTIH, GOST R 34.11-94, RIPEMD-160, HAS-160, EDON-R, Whirlpool and Snefru. Hash sums are used to ensure and verify integrity of large volumes of data for a long-term storing or transferring. We can use yum or dnf to install rhash on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rhash.
Install rhash on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install rhash using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rhash
Install rhash on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install rhash using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install rhash
How To Uninstall rhash on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the rhash package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rhash
