How To Install rfdump on Ubuntu 18.04

What is rfdump
rfdump is:
RFDump is a tool to decode RFID tags and show their meta information: tag ID, tag type, manufacturer etc. The user data memory of a tag can be displayed and modified using either a hex or an ASCII editor. In addition, the integrated cookie feature demonstrates how easy it is for a company to abuse RFID technology to spy on their customers. RFDump works with the ACG multi-tag reader or similar card reader hardware.
There are three methods to install rfdump on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rfdump Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install rfdump using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rfdump
Install rfdump Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install rfdump using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rfdump
Install rfdump Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install rfdump using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rfdump
How To Uninstall rfdump on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the rfdump package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rfdump
Uninstall rfdump And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rfdump and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rfdump
Remove rfdump Configurations and Data
To remove rfdump configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rfdump
