How To Install retry on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install retry on Kali Linux.
What is retry
retry is:
Retry captures stdin into memory as the data is passed to the repeated command, and this captured stdin is then replayed should the command be repeated. This makes it possible to embed the retry tool into shell pipelines.
Retry captures stdout into memory, and if the command was successful stdout is passed on to stdout as normal, while if the command was repeated stdout is passed to stderr instead. This ensures that output is passed to stdout once and once only.
There are three methods to install retry on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install retry Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install retry using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install retryInstall retry Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install retry using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install retryInstall retry Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the retry package we can use the following command:

To uninstall retry and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove retryRemove retry Configurations and Data
To remove retry configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge retryRemove retry configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
