How To Install remmina-common on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install remmina-common on Kali Linux.

What is remmina-common

remmina-common is:

Remmina is a remote desktop client written in GTK+, aiming to be useful for system administrators and travellers, who need to work with lots of remote computers in front of either large monitors or tiny netbooks.

Remmina supports multiple network protocols in an integrated and consistent user interface.

Currently RDP, VNC, SPICE, WWW, NX, XDMCP, EXEC and SSH are supported.

There are three methods to install remmina-common on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

Install remmina-common Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install remmina-common using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install remmina-common

To uninstall only the remmina-common package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove remmina-common
