What is remctl-client

remctl-client is:

remctl is a client/server protocol for executing specific commands on a remote system with Kerberos authentication. The allowable commands must be listed in a server configuration file, and the executable run on the server may be mapped to any command name. Each command is also associated with an ACL containing a list of Kerberos principals authorized to run that command.

This package contains the client program (remctl).

There are three methods to install remctl-client on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install remctl-client Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install remctl-client using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install remctl-client using apt by running the following command:

Install remctl-client Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install remctl-client using aptitude by running the following command:
