on CentOS 7.
What is re2c
re2c is a tool for writing very fast and very flexible scanners. Unlike any other such tool, re2c focuses on generating high efficient code for regular expression matching. As a result this allows a much broader range of use than any traditional lexer offers. And Last but not least re2c generates warning free code that is equal to hand-written code in terms of size, speed and quality.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install re2c
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install re2c.
Install re2c on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install re2c
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install re2c
Install re2c on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install re2c
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install re2c
How To Uninstall re2c on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the re2c
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove re2c
